Women’s Euro 2022 will come to a close this weekend as England’s Lionesses battle it out against Germany in the final at Wembley on Sunday.

It comes after the Germans emerged victorious against France with a 2-1 win in their semi-final in Milton Keynes, with two goals from Alexandra Popp.

It means the Wolfsburg forward is now level with England’s Beth Mead in the contest for the golden boots with six goals in the competition so far.

England have reached the Euro final on two previous occasions but lost both times – in 1984 and 2009. They will be desperate to make it third time lucky in front of a home crowd.

Sarina Wiegman's squad will be deep in preparations for the final encounter, and the nation is desperate to see them go all the way.

The kick-off time is 5pm, making it a perfect time for the nation to settle down and tune in for an inevitably dramatic night.

The final marks an end to almost a month's worth of tournament action for another three years. The location of the next tournament is yet to be confirmed.
